Arc Forge Labs Docs v2026.10.2

v2026.9.27

`npx @arcforgelabs/dictate install` installs again, and per-user Linux installs can update themselves from the app. npx ran the package's update script for every command, so `install` and the app's `update --user` both stopped with the installer's usage text.

Fixes

  • npx [@arcforgelabs](https://github.com/arcforgelabs)/dictate install installs again, and per-user Linux installs can update themselves from the app. npx ran the package's update script for every command, so install and the app's update --user both stopped with the installer's usage text.
  • In-app updates on Linux finish. The .deb's pre-install script stopped the engine that was running the install, so the window respawned the old engine before the new files landed and offered the same update again. The script now leaves the updater's own process chain running, stops the desktop shell by its full path (the old name match never fired), and the app asks for a restart whenever the installed package is newer than the running engine.
